I've heard in my travels that if you want to make something happen you have to believe it WILL happen and put it out there publicly so that people who love you and care about you can hold you accountable.
I'm blessed to be surrounded and supported by wise, loving and kind people. Between family, friends and business clients who are my adopted family I know I will get the feedback I need when I go left this year. And I will go left.
I no longer believe in "never" or "forever". I wrote that a long time ago as the intro to a devastating, heartbroken piece about the latest "love gone wrong" or whatever it was. Because of this belief I have made many things very temporary in my life and my business. After losing 4 loved ones in the span of 3 months back in 2011 I learned very quickly and painfully that we are not promised forever, we aren't promised tomorrow. All we have is right now.
Bringing in the New Year last night with my family was everything. I have spent many of the last 10 new year's eves alone by choice. Not wanting to taint anyone with my sadness, quirkiness or downright anger. Angry to see another year fade into the ether. Angry about so-called friends, lovers, associates not making it to the finish line to be relied upon on January 1. I was pissed at them but way more angry at myself.
So what does all of this mean for Creatively Yours (ARC)? This IS a business blog so why are my personal issues being poured out here? Because the personal DOES affect business. I want to grow as a person and as a business-owner. I did stats for all of my clients this morning and I see the growth there. As Jay-Z famously said, men/women lie...numbers don't.
With every tweet, Facebook post and Like, blog entry and anything else I do during the course of my work day for my clients, I am growing. I live to hear good news that a single was downloaded or they received some other boost to their business and my efforts played a small part. Because when they win, I win.
I want 2014 to be that year. I want to look back on January 1, 2015 and say Creatively Yours (ARC) did THAT! I would not be able to do any of this without the people that believed in me on November 8, 2012 when I said "I can help" and they ALLOWED me to help. I cannot do it without the people who continue to stick with me month after month and by staying they are saying: "we can do this TOGETHER."
There is so much more I could say. But I will end with this, 2014 can be "just another year" or it can be the one that puts this business and my clients on every map. I'm shooting for the stars during sunrise, moonset and every minute in between. Join me.
